Do You Want To Be A Volunteer Tutor?
Have you ever thought of helping adults with their reading, writing, counting, basic IT or even English as a Second Language?
Adult Learning trains volunteers to work with adults on a one-to-one basis. The training is free. It's eleven 3 hour sessions.
Once you've received your training you will be supported by your Literacy Development Worker. They work out a learning plan with the learner, and suggest learning materials you can work with. They also visit you and your learner regularly to make sure that you are both making good progress.
You don't need loads of qualifications. If you have sound basic skills, a friendly manner and enjoy working with people, we'd like to hear from you.
